Reading is a very important part of my life. It’s been a constant since early childhood. One of the first ways I used the web was to record books as I finished them, and listing books (though not often reviewing them) has been the most consistent way I’ve blogged since then. The early lists I kept are on this site.
In 2000, I raised over $1,000 for the Free Library of Philadelphia by having a personal readathon while on vacation. I’ve linked to the letter I sent to friends, family, and co-workers, along with the letter I wrote as a report. Getting the pledges was both effortless and enjoyable.
